Leisure Training Ireland provide pool lifeguard courses for the two biggest lifeguard bodies across Ireland and the Uk. We run courses both publicly and privately. This course is ideal for anyone looking to up skill, get into the Leisure industry or just learn new skills. Leisure Training Ireland also has links with a number of facilities throughout Dublin which means there may also be employment options with completion of the course.

COURSE CONTENT

The NPLQ covers all elements of Pool Rescue Techniques, Lifeguarding Theory, First Aid and CPR. The course is physically demanding and will include swimming to set times, lifting casualties and diving to the deepest part of the swimming pool. Training and assessment for the NPLQ is in three sections and all must be successfully passed to attain the qualification.

  • Swimming Pool, Hazards and Control Measures
  • Swimming Pool Supervision
  • Intervention and Rescue
  • Rescue of a Casualty with a Suspected Spinal Injury
  • Emergency Action Plan
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • First Aid
  • Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
  • Qualified Lifeguards

 

CERTIFICATION

Successful completion of the pool lifeguard course leads to an accredited certificate from the Royal Lifesaving Society or Water Safety Ireland which is valid for 2 years. A refresher (20 hours) is needed before your certificate goes out of date (Please see our pool lifeguard refresher course)
